FALLING IN LOVE with a SPOON on a First Date...

IT WAS A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO.
I forced myself to meet this GUY, who I already did NOT like on his profile pic on the DATING APP.
But I wanted to force myself TO BE spontaneous. I needed a reason to take the train to Amsterdam. I remember I dressed myself in a go-to uniform, A DENIM LOOK, and paired it with some SNEAKERS. The time of overdressing for a first date is over. I learned my lesson(s) well.
We MET at this coffee place in Haarlemmerdijk. He was A GENTLEMAN I must admit. But I just did not have any ‘conversation CHEMISTRY’ with him. And I am the kind of GIRL who needs to be TOUCHED IN MY BRAIN instead of … Well you fill in THE DOTS!
I sipped on my – tasteless – CAPPUCCINO. And when he proposed to go for a walk I ACCEPTED this wholeheartedly. I could not take the EMPTY conversation in an EMPTY coffee place any longer.
While walking on the cozy Haarlemmerdijk my eye glanced at this window filled with plates and cups. And there it was… THE SPARKLE I MISSED FROM MY DATE WAS COMPENSATED BY A CUTLERY SET. I looked at THE SPOON and fell immediately in LOVE. It was a short glance and my date seemed in A HURRY so I jumped into the store and grabbed myself a business card. I told the spoon GOODBYE and left…
I forgot about the date quickly, BUT THE SPOON STAYED with me for many years. And when I started this blog I went through my archive and found that black-and-white BUSINESS CARD. So I took the train again and met the beautiful and very well-informed owner of the BOUTIQUE named after herself Vivian Hann. The place has been established in 1998 and is described on THE WEBSITE as “thirty square meters filled with cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, linen and other items TO HAVE AND TO HOLD”.
Fortunately I found THE spoon and the SPARKLE was still there. I am happy to tell you that I am the proud owner of the spoon I fell in love with during a first date… I WILL hold her and love her and EVEN SPOON with her, until death do us part…
